The road is being paved to scrape up 370 million euros from the Pension Solidarity Fund (AKAGE) to pay off the needs of the Organization of the Self-Employed (OAEE), Law Fund (ETAA) and Joint Self-Employment Fund (TSAY). This is being prepared by a joint ministerial decision signed by Labor Minister George Katrougalos and Alternate Finance Minister George Choularakis.
The OAEE is calling for 250 million euros to be deposited, to cover the deficits and payment of pensions until December. The same decision also would allow the payment of 20 million euros to be shared out to cover the needs of TSAY and ETAA. The decision foresees the transfer of money from the Pension Solidarity Fund (AKAGE) that is generally a small fund to be emptied out in three installments. The first 150 million euros will be taken on October 25, whereas 100 million euros will be taken on November 10 and December 9.
