Zoe Kazan Mesmerizes in Terrifying ‘The Monster’ Trailer

New indie horror film “The Monster”, starring Zoe Kazan, is now available on DirecTV and will see a limited theatrical release soon, so director Bryan Bertino increased fans’ anticipation with a scary new trailer.

The film follows Zoe Kazan’s divorced mom character, Kathy, while she is traveling with her daughter, Lizzy (Ella Ballentine), to visit her estranged husband. The two are traveling on a rainy, empty road late at night, when a dog emerges out of nowhere forcing Kathy to veer off the road and crash.

From the trailer and the film’s title, it is obvious there is some kind of monster in the woods where the two are now stuck; however, it is also clear there is more at play here than meets the eye.

Bertino has had a somewhat intriguing path as a horror director, with his 2008 horror premiere “The Strangers” garnering plenty of positive reviews, and his 2014 “Mockingbird” taking a turn away from commercial horror films.

In other words, “The Monster” is sure to be somewhat deeper than a straightforward monster thriller movie, so watch the trailer above and tune in to DirecTV or head to a screening on November 11th, when the movie hits select theaters nationwide.
