Greek Government Plans to Bring Forth Omnibus Bill of Landmark Issues This Week

greek-parliament1
The Greek government plans to bring forward an omnibus bill including all landmark issues – needing a legislative action – pending from the first review of the Greek bailout program, a top Finance ministry official told the Athens News Agency following a meeting between Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, Economy Minister George Stathakis and Alternate Finance Minister George Chouliarakis with the representatives of the institutions on Friday.
The meeting reviewed negotiations held between the two sides this week. “Today I am much more pleased than I was on Monday, as several concerns eased and there is a big progress,” said the official.
He noted that on the issue of the privatization fund there is a belief that the issue will be fully completed in the next few days, while big progress was made on a bill on e-transactions.
A Eurogroup meeting is scheduled October 10, for the approval of the disbursement of a 2.8 billion euro sub-tranche to Greece.
