It's Not Over Yet: Second Wave of Severe Weather to Hit Greece

kal_631_355More severe weather is in the forecast for parts of Greece according to the National Meteorological Sevice (EMY) forecast.
Western Greece is bracing for more heavy rains and storms to hit on Thursday including the already battered Peloponnese region. Also, tropical hail storms are expected to impact the regions of the Ionian Sea, Epirus, central Greece, mainland Greece, Thessaly and western Macedonia, the EMY forecast predicts.
So far the heavy downpour of rain over the past 48 hours has caused the death of four people in Greece as well as major flooding, and local authorities are on high alert as rivers are already running high and the ground is over-saturated, making fear of more flooding prevalent.
The EMY reports that Thrace as well as the eastern and southern Aegean are going to miss out on any extreme weather with this latest storm front sweeping through the country.
