Golden Dawn Trial Adjourns After Summer Recess in Greece

dikiha708The Golden Dawn trial was adjourned on Monday at the Three-Member Felony Appeals Court, after summer recess.
Giorgos Roupakias, parliamentarians and members of the extreme nationalist party are charged with the murder of rapper Pavlos Fyssas on September 18, 2013.
At subsequent meetings the court is expected to rule on the request by the Fyssas side for the examination of two witnesses, an eyewitness of the murder and a former member of Golden Dawn. The defense requested the summons of former citizen protection minister, Nikos Dendias.
Upon completion of the “Fyssas file witness testimonies,” the process will continue with the examination of the file on the savage attack against Egyptian fishermen in Perama dawn on June 12, 2012, allegedly perpetrated by Golden Dawn members.
The session was held at the Athens Appeals Chamber, while on September 6 and 8 trial will move to a special facility at Korydallos prison. The trial dates in September are 5, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 19, 23 and 27.
