Over €30,000 Raised for Charity by Cypriot Rower who Paddled from Crete to Cyprus

paddler-guyOn Sunday rowing coach Kostas Symeonides and his team completed the trek from Crete to Cyprus, successfully raising over €30,000 for charity during the event I paddle for life, I paddle for children.
It all started on August 19 when Symeonides boarded his yellow and black paddle board from eastern Crete for the charity rowing event.
While taking to the press after reaching Cyprus, Symeonides commented that the first days were the hardest as the team ran into bad weather and one of the boats accompanying the team had engine problems and the group feared that they could run into complications or even end up stranded at sea.
However, once Cyprus came into view, the team found the determination to complete the trip.

Symeonides raised €33,000 through sponsors which he promptly gave to chairman Dr. Argyri Argyriou of the Center for Preventive Pediatrics who thanked him and his team, pledging they would “keep up the fight for all of Cyprus’ children.”
