edie cyprus issueUNSG Special Envoy Espen Barth Eide has said that we are now in a phase at the Cyprus negotiations, that we can discuss everything.
“Some things are in brainstorming mode, some of them in negotiating mode, but there is no taboo to issues that can be discussed at least in a very close format between the leaders,” he said after an 1-hour long meeting he had on Wednesday morning with President Nicos Anastasiades, when asked why is this phase more crucial than others and what is different this time.
The two leaders, namely President Anastasiades and Turkish-Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci embarked yesterday on a new round of intensified talks with a total of seven meetings that will last until September 14.
