Athens 3rd Most Expensive Capital to Park in Europe

photo-parking_aftodioikisi-696x349Athens is the third most expensive capital in Europe in regards to car parking, coming after Stockholm and London, according to a survey conducted by travel services company Ubeeqo.
Specifically, the average cost of parking in Greece’s capital is 5.70 euros per hour. London is the most expensive capital to park your car with an average of 10.40 euros per hour, followed by Stockholm at 7.80 euros per hour.
The survey shows that the cost of parking does not correspond with the overall cost of living in a capital. For instance, in wealthy Monaco, residents and tourists pay only 2 euros per hour on average. Or in Geneva, Switzerland where the cost of living is high, parking is only 2.1 euros per hour.
However, in other capitals where the cost of living is low, parking costs are proportionally low as well. Bucharest, Romania and Sofia, Bulgaria are the two European capitals with the cheapest parking fees, averaging at 0.60 euros and 0.80 euros per hour, respectively.
In Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, and Vilnius, Lithuania, parking for one hour cost 2 euros, a price that corresponds accurately to the overall cost of living and income.
