A man from Athens who allegedly threw a dog off of a third-floor balcony of an apartment that he owns in Amerikis Square will face an Athens prosecutor on Monday.
The disturbing allegations against the owner of the apartment are that he apparently entered the apartment to evict his tenants who were not there at the time, and allegedly threw their dog off of the balcony.
The owner claims that the dog fell off of the balcony by accident and that he didn’t throw the dog.
Neighbors saw the dog fall but it is unclear if they will be able to identify the owner as having thrown the dog from the balcony, officials say.
The dog did survive the fall, suffering from broken legs and teeth and is to be operated on Monday.
