Shooting Starts for Greek-Turkish Co-produced Film, ‘Ismail and Roza’

turkyunan1A film titled “Ismail and Roza,” an adaptation from Greek author Yannis Yanellis‘ novel of the same name, has begun shooting in Istanbul.

The project is a Greek-Turkish co-production under direction of Yorgos Kordellas.

The film’s screenplay was written by Christina Lazaridi and tells the stories of Turks and Greeks who have been living together for centuries, after the 1923 population exchange between Greece and Turkey, while focusing on promoting a message of friendship to both countries.

Shooting will continue in various locations, including in İzmir, Athens and the Greek island of Lesvos.

The film will be completed under producer Baran Seyhan while filming in Turkey and Panos Papahadzid in Greece.
