Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama on Saturday on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Warsaw.
The two leaders will discuss the Brexit repercussions on the European Union, the Greek bailout program, security in the Balkan/Mediterranean region and the migration issue, according to Maximos Mansion.
The Greek PM departed for Warsaw on Thursday to attend the two-day NATO summit that starts today (Friday). He will be accompanied by National Defense Minister Panos Kammenos, Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and Hellenic National Defense General Staff chief, Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis.
The prime minister’s schedule starts with the reception of NATO heads of state and government at 1:40 p.m. local time. He will then attend the NATO leaders’ meeting between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and a working dinner at Poland’s presidential mansion from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
On Saturday morning Tsipras will attend a special session devoted to Afghanistan from 9-11 a.m., a lunch for heads of state and government, defense ministers and foreign ministers at 11 a.m. and then take part in a second North Atlantic Council meeting between noon and 2p.m
The Greek prime minister will also be at a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission (NUC) at the level of Heads of State and/or Government from 3-4:30 p.m. before departing for Athens with the Greek delegation at 6:30 p.m.
