Poll Shows New Democracy 11.5% Ahead of SYRIZA

pollA new opinion poll shows conservative New Democracy leading the intention to vote race by 11.5% ahead of SYRIZA.
The poll that was conducted by the University of Macedonia on behalf of Skai television, also shows that six out of 10 belive that last year’s referendum on the European Union bailout proposal in fact damaged the Greek economy.
In the poll, 28.5% of participants said they would vote for ND if elections were held today compared to 17% who would choose SYRIZA.
Again, the ultra-rightist Golden Dawn party ranked third in the preference of potential voters, gathering 8 percent. The Greek Communist Party (KKE) ranked fourth with 6%, PASOK ranked fifth getting 4.5% of the vote.
Further down, Centrists Union got 3%, ultra-leftists Antarsya received 2.5% in vote preference, Independent Greeks followed with 2% and To Potami came last with 1.5%.
The vast majority of participants (86%) said they were not satisfied with the performance of the leftist government while 69% of those who voted for SYRIZA said they were dissatisfied with the administration.
A total of 63% said they believed that last summer’s bailout referendum – concerning the creditors proposed austerity measures – did damage to Greece, with only 8% percent saying they believed that the country benefited from it.
Regarding a hypothetical referendum asking if Greece should stay in the common currency bloc, 53.55 responded they would prefer to stay in the euro zone, while 37% would opt for the country to return to the drachma.
