A sea of people crowded West Broadway last Sunday for Greek Day. This annual festival offers visitors a tasteĀ of Greece ranging from food to cultural infusions of live music, performances and goods available for purchase.
This street festival is one of Vancouver’s largest, as tens of thousands of people visited West Broadway to experience the best of Greek culture and watch live performances.
Of course, there was plenty of Greek cuisine goodies to choose from such as souvlaki, spanakopita, baklava and Greek beer selections, just to name a few.
There was something for all ages as there were games for children, all decorated in blue and white, which should not be much of a surprise!
The Greek flag was in abundance throughout the vendors and activities of the celebrations as Greek-Canadians proudly showed-off their native flag.
Greek Day 2016 brought in crowds of tens of thousands of visitors who left praising raving reviews. The annual celebration took place along West Broadway from Macdonald to Blenheim streets until 9 p.m.
