Anarchists Burn Two Buses in Athens

leoforeioA group of anarchists set two buses on fire in central Athens a little after midnight on Wednesday and then went to hiding in the National Technical University of Athens building.
The hooded perpetrators started from nearby Exarcheia Square and went to Patission Street, in front of the technical university where they stopped two buses, asked for the driver and passengers to get out and then set the vehicles on fire.
Then, upon the arrival of riot police, they set trash containers on fire and started throwing firebombs and rocks at police. They also broke the windows of a private school across the street. Then they entered the university building and remained there until police left.
Several fire engines rushed to the scene and put out the fires, but the two buses were completely destroyed.
No injuries were reported and no arrests were made.
