French Prime Minister Manuel Valls is due in Athens on Thursday for an official visit in support of Greece’s economic reform efforts and to discuss the refugee crisis.
On his two-day visit, Valls will meet with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos. France’s PM will be accompanied by Finance Minister Michel Sapin and State Minister for European Affairs Harlem Desir.
According to French sources, Valls is willing to offer French knowledge on finance and economy issues in order for Greece to implement reforms and stay in the euro zone. At the same time Valls will make proposals for handling the refugee influx.
At Maximos Mansion there is hope that Valls will bring with him proposals for French investments in Greece.
