After the heated debate the Greek Parliament voted on Sunday on the multi-bill that includes measures demanded by Greece’s lenders to close the first program review as 153 MPs voted in favor, 145 voted against.
Speaking in parliament, government ministers described the measures included in the bill as necessary and socially just, while the opposition criticized the government of imposing cuts on pensions and wages. Debate focused on the contingency mechanism and the new privatization fund which are also included in the package of measures discussed by lawmakers.
