Two Dead After Maintenance Train Collision in Northern Greece

mgngzkghkw5739b975ba37fTwo TRAINOSE wagons performing maintenance work collided in northern Greece leaving two dead and two injured, according to the Greek public railroad.
The collision occurred around 1:30 pm on Monday near Serres, on the Chryso-Toumba railway line.
One carriage was conducting line maintenance work and the other car was spraying, according to TRAINOSE. The spraying car was moving slowly, while the maintenance wagon was moving at a fast speed. The maintenance car driver did not have time to apply the breaks when he saw the other car 100 meters away.
Police and ambulances rushed to the spot but two of the railroad personnel were already dead. The other two were taken to the Serres General Hospital suffering injuries.
