A video showing athlete Dimitris Kyrsanidis freerunning in Spinaloga, has been circulating the internet.
The athlete, who has been practicing parkour and freerunning, run, jumped, and climbed on the small alleys of the island, taking the viewers back in times when the island was inhabited.
Spinaloga, was a leprosarium for the first half of the past century, where patients were transferred there as soon as they showed symptoms of the Hansen’s disease. When the leprosarium closed in 1958 and its patients were transferred to Athens, the island was completely deserted.
