Cyprus' Trade Deficit Rises in January to February 2016

The trade deficit in Cyprus has registered higher for the period of January to February 2016, as compared to the same period in 2015.
Specifically, trade deficit on the island was 465.7 million euros for 2016, while in 2015 it was 368.4 million euros, the data from the Cyprus statistical service showed on Monday.
Total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other EU member states) in January-February 2016 amounted to 692.6 million euros as compared to 734.2 million euros in January-February 2015. Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other member states) in January-February 2016 was 227 million euros, compared to 365.8 million in January-February 2015.
During February 2016 total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other Member States) were valued at 357 million euros.
Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other member states), including stores and provisions, in February 2016 amounted to 115.6 million euros.
Εxports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, were 65.1 million euros whilst exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, were 50.5 million euros.
