Poll: 49% of Germans in Favor of Greece Staying in Euro Zone

Grexit...There is a turn in public opinion in Germany regarding Greece’s stay in the euro zone, as 49 percent of Germans want Greece in the common currency bloc.
A poll published in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper shows that less Germans are in favor of a Grexit compared to when the SYRIZA-ANEL coalition first came to power.
At the time, 59 percent of German participants were in favor of a Grexit while 33 percent wanted Greece to stay in the euro.
The poll was conducted by the British YouGov Institute in March and shows that 49 percent of Germans want Greece in the euro zone while 33 percent are against.
In March 2015, during negotiations over Greece’s bailout, only 23 percent of Germans were in favor of Greece’s stay in the common currency bloc and 59 percent against.
However, in September 2015, after the third bailout agreement, the percentage of Germans who were in favor of Greece being a euro zone member went up to 40 percent while 41 percent were against.
