Migrants Pay €3,000 Euros to be Smuggled from Greece Through Albania

migrantsPeople smugglers offer stranded Afghan migrants to help them cross to Europe through Albania, asking for 3,000-4,000 euros.
In the past two days, about 250 Afghan migrants have camped out at Victoria Square in central Athens, after they returned from Idomeni, at the Greece-Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia border.
The neighboring country has shut its borders to Afghan migrants, accepting only Syrian refugees with official documentation. Greek authorities have chartered buses to transfer the stranded migrants to hospitality centers.
However, many of them have chosen to return to Athens on their own because most accommodation camps are full. Also, several of them try to find illegal ways to cross to Europe.
According to Afghan migrants camping at Victoria Square, they have been approached by people telling them that there are ways to be smuggled out of the country through the Albanian border.
The price to be transferred to Germany illegally ranges between 3,000 and 4,000 euros, with traffickers offering migrants to take them to Germany by car through the Greek-Albanian borders.
