Tourist arrivals in Greece grew by 8.6% in the January-September period this year, Hellenic Statistical Authority said in a report on Monday.
The statistics service, in a report based on a survey conducted by the Bank of Greece, said that arrivals from Europe — which accounted for the biggest part of arrivals (88.4%)– grew 7.9%, while arrivals from the EU jumped 17.1%.
Arrivals in the Athens airport accounted from 16.1% of all arrivals in the country, followed by the Heraklion airport (10.8%) and Rhodes (8.2%).
