Athens Appeal Court Rejects Extradition Request by Italian Authorities

foitites_entalma_italia45-864x400_cThe Chamber of the Athens Appeal Court has ruled against extradition proceedings of five students that took part in a protest against EXPO 2015 last spring in Milan.
The request for extradition proceedings had been filed by Italian authorities who have charged the five students with causing damage on property, an offense that carries a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 8 years while the maximum prison sentence can be up to 12 years.
Thousands of people took part against EXPO 2015 last spring in Milan, with anarchist organizations making their presence known as cars were torched and shop windows smashed.
In Athens, hundreds of anarchists demonstrated outside the Appeal Court in support of their comrades. The decision of the Court must have left them deeply satisfied.
