Greek Riot Police Clash with Senior Protesters in Athens

protestProtests took place in downtown Athens, Greece, on Friday in a response to the government’s social security reform plan.
Amid the developing tension, riot police clashed with a group of senior protesters who were members of the All Workers Militant Front (PAME) and the Greek Civil Servants Confederation (ADEDY), according to Greek media. Video footage from the protest shows police dragging a man while other protesters try to pull him away. One man reportedly took himself to the hospital to receive treatment, Greek media further reported.
Earlier in the day, three coach buses were able to drive to the street outside the Greek government headquarters, from which general traffic is not allowed to go through but tourist buses are. Once in the street, the PAME members came off the buses to protest outside the government headquarters.
