The First Greek ‘The Big Pop Up Store’ in Gstaad Switzerland

The-Big-Pop-Up-StoreThe Lascaris Foundation in cooperation with “The Big Pop Up” launched the first Greek “The Big Pop Up Store” in Gstaad, Switzerland, in order to presentĀ Greek designers and Greek fashion to an international audience.

More than 85 Greek jewelry, clothing and accessory designers are given the opportunity to present their unique pieces of fashion at the “Bridge” hall of the Gstaad Palace as well as in the lobby of “The Alpine Gstaad” hotel from the 28-30th of December.

The revenue collected from the sales of The Big Pop UpĀ will go to the Peloponnesian Folklore Foundation “Vassilios Papantoniou” in favor of creating a Costume Culture Museum in Athens which will be a benchmark for productive dialogue in developing ideas and design. More than 6,000 fashion items by both Greek and foreign designers areĀ gathered and waitingĀ to find a home.

The idea of creating a Costume Culture Museum in Athens originated from Ioanna Papantoniou, president of the Vassilios Papantoniou foundation. For the creation of the museum, Mrs. Papantoniou’s foundation is also cooperating with the Benaki Museum, the Greek Costume Society and the Lascaris Foundation.
