Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras asked his cabinet to accelerate government work and underlined 11 necessary actions that should be legislated immediately.
Tsipras talked to his cabinet on Wednesday in the last meeting for 2015 stressing that “delay’s can’t be excused.”
The prime minister underlined the necessity of a new law on security funds, the creation of a development bank, a new primary healthcare system within the National Health System, the development of a “social economy”, tabling a draft law on research, the modernization of the public works and public contracts system, a draft law against tobacco and fuel smuggling, a plan that would encourage citizens to declare undeclared wealth and tackling tax evasion.
Tsipras also announced rapid developments in the crucial issue of tax evasion and revealed that the government’s general secretary Mihalis Kalogirou had a meeting with former HSBC employee Herve Falciani from whom he received a list of thousands of suspicious international transactions which he handed over to the prosecutor.
