A young man from Syria was arrested by the Greek Coast Guard for participating in a trafficking ring on Tuesday on the island of Kalymnos.
After his arrest Greek authorities found photos of ISIS symbols, guns, and battlefields on his phone, and notified the Greek intelligence agency in Athens.
The case has been transferred to the Greek intelligence agency (EYP) and the suspect is currently being questioned.
According to a police source the suspect is denying any relation to the Jihadist terrorist group ISIS, instead he supports that he was a fighter with the Syrian army before switching sides and joining the Syrian rebels.
Greek authorities are looking on the call log of the suspect’s phone as well as recovered data that may show an ISIS connection.
