Greece is Selling 2 State-Owned Prime Properties in New York and Washington DC

gt934956Greece is selling two state-owned prime real estate properties in New York City and Washington DC as part of a privatization program required by the third bailout agreement, according to mignatiou.com.
The Press and Information Office in New York City is already sold to a buyer who is unknown so far. The Manhattan property, located on 305 East 47th Street, between First and Second Avenue sold for 9.1 million dollars, according to the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED).
The Manhattan building had hosted prime ministers, ministers, and other top Greek officials. It had been considered one of the best investments the Greek state has ever made. Athens has informed the Greek Embassy to notify the employees of the Press Office and the Hellenic Tourism Organization (EOT) to empty the premises by January 31, 2016.
The second building up for sale is the former Press Office of the Greek Embassy in Washington DC. The premise is already abandoned.
The property is in a historical building on 221 Massachusetts Avenue, an area where most diplomatic missions are located. The four-story building on the Kalorama Heights area has 8.120 square feet (754 square meters) of usable space and the starting price is 2.7 million dollars.
