tselentisAkis Tselentis the director of the Geodynamic Institute of Athens stressed that Greek citizens need to be cautious after the 6.1 Richter earthquake that took place near the island of Lefkada a few days ago.
The institute’s director and professor of seismology at the University of Patras posted some scientific notes on Facebook, stressing the need for caution, due to the aftershocks. The professor noted that “the phenomenon is still in progress.”
He also added that according to seismologists working at the Geodynamic Institute “if the rim near the area of Lefkada and Kefalonia breaks then the aftershocks could measure up to 5.7 on the Richter scale.
