Nick Cassavetes Gets Green Light for New Film ‘Carousel’

Nick Cassavetes has been attached to the film project “Carousel” for a few months now, and the movie just got co-financing and international sales representation from Green-Light International at LA’s American Film Market (AFM).

The movie is an independent Wall Street thriller, which follows two long lost brothers who have grown up on the streets of New York, and are reunited through a girl and decide to take down a corrupt gypsy king and his Wall Street partner.

The script was written by Alan Saretsky, who will also be producing the movie.

Now that financing is in place, a production schedule should be out soon so casting and filming can take place.

Cassavetes last major film, “The Other Woman”, attracted stars Cameron Diaz and Kate Upton. The Greek-American director is keeping busy at the moment, as in addition to the upcoming “Carousel” he is working on the remake of the cult hit “Roadhouse”, starring Ronda Rousey.
