The Environmental Media Awards held at Warner Bros Studios on October 24th honored celebrities devoted to environmentalism and eco-friendly living, and two big names of the night were Greek!
Earth Friendly Products was one of the sponsors of the EMAs, and the Lifetime Award Honoree was famed Greek-Australian director George Miller, best known for the “Mad Max” movies.
Both Kelly Vlahakis-Hanks, CEO of Earth Friendly Products, and Miller spoke to us about the importance of being green in today’s world.
Vlahakis-Hanks emphasized how Earth Friendly Products, started by her father when he immigrated from Greece, was groundbreaking in its eco-friendly approach. Now, Kelly is committed to continuously improving her brand and products and is proud to be a sponsor of the EMA awards, as well as a member of the EMA Corporate Board.
As Kelly states, the EMAs are “the premier Hollywood event where everyone comes out to support going green, acting now, protecting our environment, protecting human health”.
Miller also opened up to us about how his upbringing by Greek parents on a farm had a huge impact on how he thinks and cares about the environment, and he believes environmentalism should be a much more important and talked about issue than it currently is.
Other celebrities present at the event included Dita Von Teese, Edward Begley, Jr., Stana Katic, Jessica Biel, and Lance Bass among others.
