New ECB Study Reveals Economic Situation in Eurozone Countries

ECBEurozone members did not feel the weight of the financial crisis equally, at least until 2013.
Reuters sites European Central Bank data which shows the different implications of the European financial crisis on the wealth of different countries’ citizens between 2009-2013.
The citizens of Ireland were hurt the most during that period of time, as the average wealth in the country fell by 18,000 euros per citizen and Greeks were not much better off losing 17,000 euros of their wealth. Spain lost 13,000 euros per capita between those four years. These sharp decreases in wealth also reflect falling property values, Reuters notes.
On the other hand Germany’s wealth per capita grew by 19,000 euros while citizens in Netherlands saw their wealth grow by 33,000 euros as investments into these countries grew.
