More than 8M Tourists Arrived in Greece During First Semester of 2015

According to data released by the Bank of Greece tourist arrival for the first semester of 2015 (January-June) grew by 18.8% compared to the same period in 2014.
This development resulted in a 4.171 million euro tourism turnover for the period between January and June 2015. The amount showed a 9.5% increase compared to the same period in 2014.
Overnight stays of travelers in Greece amounted to 56,639 during the first semester of 2015, a slight increase of 6.7% compared to the 53,089 tourists in the same respective period of 2014.
Meanwhile, despite the political uncertainty and the financial crisis, the tourism industry continues to grow in Greece. In fact, SETE announced a few weeks ago that the revenue for the fall period is expected to reach 3.2 billion euros, while more than 5 million tourists are expected to arrive in Greece in the fall period of 2015.
