Greek Parliament Will Vote Bailout Prior Actions Separated in Multiple Articles

Olga GerovasiliGreek government spokesperson Olga Gerovasili clarified in a new interview with “Sto Kokkino” FM radio station that the prior actions that the Greek parliament will vote on next week will be separated in various articles.
“Each party will have the opportunity to talk and take a stance with regards to what it supports and what it does not support,” Gerovasili said on the effect of having different articles.
Greece must legislate a set of prior actions to receive an additional two billion euros of bailouts funds. In an interview earlier in the week Gerovasili had noted that all of the new prior actions will be included in a single law.
The government spokesperson also noted that the new legislation has been assigned an urgent status. The status f legislation determines how much time the Greek Parliament’s MPs have to review the articles and decide how to vote. The urgent status means that there will be three days of discussion in the Greek parliament before MPs vote. Gerovasili noted that the process will take place between October 15 and October 17.
“We will see whether what they were saying before the elections about cooperation and wide alliances meant anything, or if they were just saying it pre-electorally,” she said on the political opposition’s upcoming vote on the articles.
