Former “American Idol” contestant and Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis will be performing in the musical premiere of “Breaking Through” at the Pasadena Playhouse in November.

Constantine Maroulis rose to fame on the “American Idol” show, but then further proved his talent in his performance as Drew, a shy aspiring rocker, in the Broadway hit performance of “Rock of Ages”, and later on played a part in the film version of the musical for which we had conducted an interview with Maroulis.

After his movie debut, Maroulis expanded his reach into the acting world by appearing on shows like “Law & Order: SVU” and “Mozart in the Jungle”.

The Brooklyn-born and raised singer is now out in Pasadena preparing for his role as Scorpio in “Breaking Through”, a musical about a young, talented singer trying to rise through the music businesses and encountering the industry’s dark side along the way.

The musical was scored by Emmy award-winning songwrtier Cliff Downs, whose work has appeared on “The Voice” and “American Idol”, and will be directed by Sheldon Epps.

Preview performances start on October 27th, and the play opens up to press and audience members on November 1st.
