In June, Russia and Greece signed a Memorandum on cooperation in the construction of the TurkStream gas pipeline extension that will deliver Russian gas to southern Europe. The Greek leg of the project will cost approximately $2.2 billion and is expected to begin in late 2016 and completed in late 2019.
The TurkStream pipeline will run across the Black Sea from Russia to Turkey. A gas hub on the Greek-Turkish border will receive an annual 47 billion cubic meters of gas, while the pipeline’s full capacity will be 63 billion cubic meters.
