Greeks Have the Least Faith in Their Economic and Political System

Greek man disparateThe Cologne Institute of Economic Research released the results of a study, which found that among Europeans, Greeks have the least faith in their country’s political and economic system.
In the 2014 confidence index study that compared 20 European countries, Greece ranked last. Just 3.1% of Greeks believe in their political system, while only 21.9% have faith in the country’s economic system.
The study found that overall, the citizens of Greece, Portugal and Italy have the least confidence in their countries’ economic, political and social systems as well as that this confidence has been decreasing in southern Europe since 2000.
On the other hand, the citizens most confident in their political system are those in Denmark, Finland and Sweden. Swedish, British and Danish citizens are the most confident in their economic system.
The study concluded that there is a direct relationship between a country’s GDP per capita and its citizens’ confidence in the economic and political system.
