Greeceās request for a loan from the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) is currently being reviewed by Eurozone technical experts in the Euro Working Group, according to Reuters. However, it was announced that there will not be a conference between the Eurozone finance ministers on Wednesday.
“Request for ESM support received from Greek government, will be dealt with EWG today,” noted Michel Reijns on Twitter. Reijns is the spokesman for Jeroen Dijsselbloem, the Dutch finance minister and Eurogroup chairman.
“No Eurogroup teleconference,” he added, even though EU officials had stated that a conference call between the Eurozone finance ministers had been scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 8.
