A video of a Greek-American mother responding very enthusiastically to Nia Vardalos’ news that a “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” sequel is in the works has gone viral on the internet, even showing up on Time magazine’s site.
The video was shot by her son Angelo, who uploaded it on Youtube after his mom went crazy with excitement, shouting “all other movies can go to hell!” when learning about the sequel’s release. For that extra Greek feel, the scene appears to take place while his mother is putting away some galaktoboureko in a container.
The mother’s reaction to many critics’ assumptions that the sequel won’t live up to the original? “To hell what people say”.
So far, the video has racked up about 70,000 views. This outspoken woman will surely be looking forward to the release of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2“, which Universal Pictures recently set for March 25, 2016.
The best part of the video is when the mother reminds us all about one important fact; “This is where life began. With the Greeks. Life began with the Greeks.”
