We had previously shared Rita Wilson‘s public statement last month about her battle with breast cancer, and now her stepson Colin Hanks has just confirmed that Rita is finally cancer free!
Wilson opened up to the public about her health problems in April, and shocked many of her fans and friends who did not know about the details of her ordeal.
In the last few days, Rita Wilson has emphasized how grateful she is for all the support she has around her during her struggle, and she is especially thankful for the constant reassurance from husband Tom Hanks.
As she said, “I was so amazed and so blown away by the care that my husband gave me. It was such a normal, intimate time.”
Rita and Tom Hanks spent her recovery period in the past month after her double mastectomy relaxing and enjoying each other’s company at home while watching DVDs.
The Greek-American actress thinks the whole ordeal has definitely brought them even closer as a couple.
Now, Wilson is so healthy that she even announced she will be returning to star in the Broadway play “Fish in the Dark”, from which she had taken a leave of absence to deal with her health issues.
Coming from a woman who is full of positivity and a love for life, here is her most recent inspirational message to her audience: “I want people to know that even though you go through life altering experiences, that this beautiful thing we call life, goes on”.
