Zoe Kazan Plays First Woman President in Lena Dunham Short

ZoeKazan

Greek-American actress Zoe Kazan was enlisted by Lena Dunham to star in a four-minute fashion film called “Vote Audrey” for Rachel Antonoff’s new collection with Other Stories, in which she stars as a young woman with dreams of the presidency.

Kazan is shown first trying to explain her platform to her neighbor who dismisses her, and then Dunham uses an imaginative sequence to show us what Zoe Kazan’s character dreams her presidency would actually be like.

The fun little short by Kazan and Dunham is partly an ad for Rachel Antonoff’s collection, but it was also meant to send a message about the 2016 elections, in which it’s assumed that Hillary Clinton will be running for president.

Lena Dunham herself promoted the short on social media by tweeting “Soon, this film won’t be total fiction. MADAM PRESIDENT 2016”.

Zoe Kazan’s appearance in this charming short film comes after she just finished filming on the feature “Our Brand is Crisis”, starring Sandra Bullock and Billy Bob Thornton.

Kazan is seemingly becoming more politicized in general, since her latest movie also has an angle in politics, as it is based on a documentary that deals with the use of US campaign strategies in South America. The film’s release is scheduled for some time in 2016.
