The Startup Weekend Blue Growth Piraeus, a workshop focusing on maritime-related startups, will take place at Chamber of Piraeus, as part the European Maritime Day event, from May 29 to 31.
The Startup Weekend Blue Growth Piraeus is part of the Startup Weekend institution, a global movement that promotes youth entrepreneurship and encourages the implementation of innovative ideas in various sectors. It is the largest community of young entrepreneurs, which has organized over 1800 events in 100 countries over the past five years.
UP Global, the nonprofit organization behind Startup Weekend, is based in Seattle, Washington, but its community members are active in more than 200 cities around the world. The Athens event is organized by Stavros Messinis, Maria Calafatis, Lida Saccopoulou and it will be facilitated by Wout Laban.
During the Startup Weekend in Athens, participants -web developers, software engineers, business graduates, graphic designers, user interface designers, or even students- will form groups and design original projects. At the end of the event they will present their progress to the audience and to an evaluation committee, consisting of members from the business, marketing and IT world, but also potential future partners and sponsors.
