A survey on the search “obsessions” of internet users has been circulating the web over the last few days. The survey conducted by cost-estimating website Fixr.com recorded Google user searches for various products, depending on their country of residence.
Although the survey is based on users’ Google search history and may fuel many stereotypes about countries and peoples, the ending result was eye-opening.
For example in Russia people often search about the price of flying with a Russian MIG aircraft, while people in South Korea are interested in finding out the price of rhinoplasty surgeries.
The most common search in Greece, in regards to pricing, has to do with the cost of a wedding ceremony and party.
In other countries, such as Mauritania, internet users appear more concerned about the cost of slaves, Brazilians are obsessed with finding out the cost of hiring a prostitute and Germans are always searching about beer prices.
