John Stamos at White House: Obama Declares Actor “Best Looking Greek”

John Stamos recently opened up about his experience at the White House Greek Independence Day celebration, where he was personally invited by President Obama.

Obama invited several prominent Greek-Americans from the entertainment and business world as well as Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis to the White House celebration. However, his fondness was clearly reserved for our own John Stamos, who he proclaimed the “Best looking Greek man in the entire world”.

Stamos spoke about his time at the White House on Jimmy Kimmel and the other Greeks he was privileged to meet during his time there.

He mentions a sweet conversation about his Greek origins he held with Archbishop Demetrius of the Greek Orthodox Church, and a talk he had with the Greek inventor of the “Dove” ice cream bar.

After the President gave a speech on the importance of Greece and Greek-Americans to the US, and the contributions they have made to the world, he got into a deep political conversion with Varoufaki, for which Stamos was present.

This made Stamos uneasy, as he joked with Kimmel about being in the middle of this serious political conversation and having no idea how to participate in what seemed to be a discussion way out of his area of expertise.

So Obama decided to lighten the mood by pointing to Stamos and naming him the “Best looking Greek man”, which seemed to cheer the former “Full House” actor up quite a bit.

Overall, Stamos kept mentioning how honored and humble he was by the experience, not only to be invited by President Obama to the White House, but also to be in the company of so many prestigious Greeks and Greek-Americans on Independence Day.
