A meeting organized at the initiative of young and older Greek migrants in Australia reached a decision to form a committee to help in the struggles of young Greek migrants in Melbourne.
The head of the organizing team, Nikos Panagiotopoulos, said that during “the meeting we discussed about acute problems faced by young Greek immigrants, who come to Australia homeless and unemployed, as well as the fact that a large number of these migrants fall victims to their employers.”
He also added that “the discussion revealed the need for a collective struggle in order to solve these problems, taking advantage of the experience of older migrants and standing beside them in the establishment of a committee for the struggle of young migrants.”
As part of this effort, a three-member organizing group was elected, while it was decided to hold a lengthy meeting with young migrants so they can make several decisions.
