‘Nikos Kazantzakis and Latin America’ Conference in Argentina

kazantzakis“I want to see Latin America and I will not let death keep me from fulfilling this promise,” stated Greek author Nikos Kazantzakis in 1936, expressing a dream he was never able to fulfill.

However, the influence of his work reached the faraway continent and it will be discussed at the international conference “Kazantzakis and Latin America,” which will be held on May 7 and 8 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The conference is organized by the International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis (ISFNK) and the Hellenic Cultural Association “Nostos.” It will take place under the auspices of Greece’s Embassy in Argentina and the country’s Society of Writers.

Speeches will be delivered during the conference by Greek Ambassador Eleni Leivaditou, ISFNK president and Hellenism ambassador George Stasinakis, Hellenic Cultural Association “Nostos” president Christina Tsaradikos, as well as the director of the Centre of Ancient, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies “Fotios Malleros” at the University of Chile, Dr. Miguel Castillio Didier, and the president of Argentina’s National Academy of Sciences, Dr. Hugo Bauza.
