Greek Coast Guard Rescues 207 Migrants in Aegean Sea

Greece Migrant ShipsOn Wednesday morning, the Greek coast guard located and rescued 207 illegal migrants in seas around the eastern Aegean islands, in four separate operations.
The first case concerned 95 illegal migrants in two inflatable dinghies sighted near a marina on the island of Kos, who slit the hulls of their boats and fell in the water after seeing the coast guard patrol. They were collected and transferred to the island with safety.
Another 60 migrants were found in the Koutsoukidi region on the island of Lesvos by the coast guard and a further 31 near the island’s airport.
Lastly, 21 illegal migrants on another inflatable boat were rescued in the early hours of Wednesday morning in seas east of Agathonisi.
