Jennifer Aniston and Gabrielle Carteris Together at the SAG Awards

The 2015 SAG awards were held in Los Angeles today at the Shrine Auditorium in Hollywood. The awards handed out to performers by the Screen Actors Guild are usually good predictors of who will walk away with an Oscar later in the awards season.

Jennifer Aniston was nominated for a SAG award for her work in the indie film “Cake” but lost out to Julianne Moore of “Still Alice.”

Fellow nominees for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role included Felicity Jones for “The Theory of Everything,” Rosamund Pike for “Gone Girl” and Reese Witherspoon for “Wild.”

The evening’s surprise came when the nominees were announced and the camera panned to Aniston to show her sitting at the table with fellow Greek-American Gabrielle Carteris.

Carteris is currently SAG’s Executive Vice President. She shot to fame as an actress in the 90s by starring in “Beverly Hills, 90210” as Andrea Zuckerman, while Aniston shot to fame around the same time for her role as Rachel in the world-famous sitcom “Friends.”

As the awards season continues, we are excited for more sightings and honors for prestigious Greek-Americans in Hollywood.
