At Least 10 Dead in Greek Fighter Jet Crash in Spain [Video]

Greek Plane Crash in SpainA Greek Air Force F-16 has crashed during a NATO exercise near the Spanish city of Albacete. Local media report that the plane was flying low and crashed into an airport hangar shortly after take-off.
Spain’s Defense Ministry said 10 people have died due to the crash, the 2 Greek pilots being among them.
A Defense Ministry official said that most of the victims were believed to be foreigners. He spoke on condition of anonymity because of Ministry rules preventing him from being named.
The F-16 belonged to the 341 Squadron of the 111th Combat Wing of Nea Aghialos and had been redeployed at the Los Llanos airbase as part of a training program taking place from January 19 to February 13. For the same reason, Greece has redeployed three more F-16 Block 50 fighter jets and 41 air force staff in the Spanish airbase.
