The Secretary General of International Economic Relations, Panagiotis Michalos traveled to Munich, Germany, in order to represent the Greek government in the formal foundation ceremony of the city’s Greek School.
The foundation ceremony took place on Friday, January 16, and it included a religious sanctification, performed by the priests of the Holy Metropolis of Germany, the Catholic Church and the Evangelical Church. The Consul General of Greece in Munich, Sofia Grammata, Bavarian Ministry of Education representatives and Greek Diaspora representatives were all present for the celebration.
According to plans, the schools will be ready to receive its students by 2016. The foundation work started early last May at the area of Berg in Munich. The project is expected to cost around 26 million euros.
